What you can expect when you come to one of our Evenings at East Dean, Bexhill or Eastbourne Town Hall.
On your first visit, turn up 10 minutes early so that you can introduce
yourself, fill in a registration form and wait for the class to begin.
A Modern Jive night starts punctually at 7.30pm with a Beginners Class lasting 45 minutes. You will learn some fun moves that are surprisingly simple. At our classes there are ‘crew’ dancers wearing our CREW T-shirts in amongst the lesson, who will look out for you and provide useful hints so that you will soon be dancing with style and confidence. This is how a typical evening is scheduled:
After the Beginners Class we turn the lights down and enter into 'Freestyle'. This is where continuous great music is played for 45 minutes allowing time to catch your breath, practice your moves, chat to your friends and get a drink.
At 9pm we start the Consolidation Class which is for those of you that have done 6 classes or less to go into a separate room, with a separate set of teachers for the Consolidation Class. This is where you will have the opportunity to repeatedly go over the Beginner's Class with our experienced and fun, Consolidation Teachers and ask any questions that you may have.
At the same time of 9pm we also start the Intermediate Class, we normally recommend that you should have completed around six beginner's classes comfortably before attempting to move up to the Intermediate level.
After about 30 minutes the Intermediate and Consolidation Classes are over and we are back into Freestyle Dancing Session 2, where you can enjoy fantastic, varied uplifting toe tapping uninterrupted music, in a party atmosphere to which everyone can practice their moves and Dance Freestyle.
The evening finishes at 10.30pm by having a drink at the very local and beautiful pub at East Dean (Tuesdays)

This is our Thursday Night Venue and it is extremely easy to find. It is opposite the Cricket Ground on Bexhill Downs on Little Common Road, which is the main A259 Coast Road between Eastbourne and Hastings look out for Bright Pink Sarah's Modern Jive swing sign and large permanently fixed advertising board on the Building itself.
This Great Venue has a licensed bar, but with annual membership fee of £10, windows and doors that can be opened for the duration of our evening, a large wooden dance floor.
This is our Wednesday Night Venue and where we hold the 'TGI (Thank Goodness It's) Friday Freestyle Dance Night with CeRoc teachers & 3 x BritRock Champions Simon Rich & Nicole Becky. Once a month we also have our Saturday night Dances which are extremely popular with dancers travel from far and wide to visit this beautiful venue with it's superb wooden sprung dance floor. Following the signs to Eastbourne Train Station, Eastbourne Town Hall can be found in Grove Rod next to the police station, with free parking around the back.
At this Great Venue you can bring your own alcohol and picnic and always serve free tea, coffee and biscuits all evening.
