Having returned from a recent visited Nov 2007 and seen for ourselves, it is now likely that the Build a Future in Kenya' charity organisation registered 1112412, has found the perfect project to assist. As more children arrive they ideally will require single dwellings where 12/14 children will live and be cared for simulating a home environment.
We are very proud to say that, when the
design drawings are complete
'Build a Future in Kenya' will fund the the 1st of this type of home so that
others can follow.
This is the new venture that 'Build a Future in Kenya' charity organisation plans on directly assisting in 2008. In the photographs above Benson a local Kenyan Business man has donated his house and 3.5 acres of land to form a safe place for orphaned, disadvantaged and disabled children. Having already started this project his partner Rahab introduced him to Leila De Bruyne, the Director of Flying Kites charity, who then introduced Benson to the 'Build a Future in Kenya' team.
Together we embark on an extraordinary
journey to produc
e the first of many children's homes that come as close as
possible to creating a perfect environment. The 1st of this kind of set up was
created by Rev. Angelo D’Agostino, SJ, MD
passed away on 20 Nov 2006 www.nyumbani.org
which we were honoured to be shown around this year, sadly he passed away last
year but his legacy lives on.
We believe that all children have the right to a childhood free from the insecurities of hunger, poverty and treatable diseases. We hope you agree.
In the village of Kinangop a night-watch-man lives with his only daughter in a one roomed apartment. Their relationship become fragile, mainly because they were both hungry, cold and exhausted.

Nov 2007 Mary's Father
Mary's father with Benson & Rahab
Consequently the father reached the end of his tether and asked us to take
his daughter away.
On investigation we discovered that all they needed was a little help.

Sarah & the Headmaster of Mary's school
Yvonne and I bought Mary extra clothes, wellington boots, trainers, a new school dress, bag and pencils, some provisions, a foam mattress and gave them our sleeping bags.

June 2008 - Both fitter, healthier and Mary doing well
at school.
In this case a timely helping hand was all that was needed.
To see price list and make a donation, check out the Flying Kites Kenya website or call Sarah Johnson.
We need help buying food, books and equipment for the new home
From the bottom of our hearts we Thank You
